Description
Die pulsierende Metropole Berlin zog im frühen 20. Jahrhundert eine Vielzahl modern denkender Künstlerinnen und Künstler an. Die Künste waren im Aufbruch, unterschiedlichste Disziplinen befruchteten sich gegenseitig, mit alten Mustern wurde gebrochen. In diesem kreativen Umfeld bewegte sich der junge Künstler Georg Kolbe (1877−1947), der alsbald zum erfolgreichsten deutschen Bildhauer dieser Generation aufstieg. Als wichtiger Porträtist, insbesondere in der Weimarer Republik, schuf Kolbe annähernd 200 Skulpturen. Gemeinsam besuchen wir das wiederörffnete Museum.
