We Tell Ourselves Stories in Order to Live

At Glasgow Women's Library, Glasgow, United Kingdom
On 16th March 2017 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Description

**We've added spaces to this event! If you're interested, please book through the event page**

1970s feminist children’s books sought to present stories that would broaden the possibilities for children and reflect a world for kids who wanted to grow up equal. Part of the exhibition Forms of Action by the CCA, artist and writer Kim Dhillon presents a series of evenings to discuss some of these books.

We Tell Ourselves Stories in Order to Live takes place on Thursdays 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th March, 5.30pm to 7pm

We’ll reflect on lead female characters; representations of fathers, grandparent carers and single, working mothers; and ask what was radical about children’s literature from the 1970s and how it can be today? Find all the sessions and book your place on our website by clicking the 'find tickets' button on this event or via this link: http://womenslibrary.org.uk/event/we-tell-ourselves-stories-in-order-to-live-4/

This event is 16+ and open to all. Tickets are free but booking is highly recommended.
