JOIN THE OUSU LGBTQ CAMPAIGN AS WE STAND WITH Close Campsfield Campaign AND Oxford Migrant Solidarity IN CALLING FOR A CLOSURE OF CAMPSFIELD HOUSE
"Since its opening 23 years ago, over 30,000 migrants and refugees have been imprisoned in Campsfield House Immigration Removal Centre, just north of Oxford. There is no time limit on the detention of those inside, and no judge or jury decides that someone should be detained. Those fleeing war, poverty, or persecution for their sexuality or gender identity are subjected to incarceration and brutalisation. All this while private contractors like G4S, Serco, and Mitie fail to provide adequate medical care and profit from exploiting detainees’ cheap labour."
Immigration detention disproportionatly effects LGBTQ people leaving their countries becuase of persecution, poverty and war.

The LGBTQ campaign will leave Wadham lodge at 11:00am to get the 11:15 bus to Campsfeild from outside Tescos. The bus is £3.50 for a return: a 30-minute ride and then a 10/15 minute walk along even surfaces to get the detention centre.
If you will have problems budgeting for the bus fare please get in contact with lgbtq-chair@ousu.ox.ac.uk and I can sort out a reimbursement.
