Event Details:
Program begins at 8:00 am. Rally begins at 10:00am and ends at 1:00pm. Begin marching at 1:00pm.
Location:
The stage, starting point and rally will be the intersection of Independence Avenue and Third Street SW, Washington DC, by the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian.
The Program:
8 a.m.— activities start with images and video on display.
9 a.m. — pre-rally with speakers, music and public service announcements. Angela Davis, Michael Moore, Gloria Steinem and Van Jones among others.
10 a.m. — The Rally starts. A program featuring nationally recognized advocates, artists, entertainers, entrepreneurs, thought leaders, and others. Celebrities include Janelle Monae, Cher, America Ferrera, Uzo Aduba, Katy Perry, and others.
1 p.m. — participants start marching toward The Ellipse where the program will end.
The March Route:
The group will begin to walk from the gathering location around 1 p.m. and march west on Independence Avenue SW, from 3rd Street SW, to 14th Street SW; then will turn north on 14th Street SW to Constitution Avenue NW; and will march west on Constitution Avenue NW to 17th Street NW, near the Ellipse and Washington Monument, where the events will come an end.
March to peacefully show strength, power, and courage, and to demonstrate disapproval of the new President's agenda of racism, fear, hate, misogyny, discrimination, and values.
ALL women, including women of all socio-economic positions, races, religions, ethnicities, national origins, disabilities, and ALL LGBTQ+, gender non-conforming AND ALL families, and feminist men, are invited to march on Washington DC the day following the inauguration of the President elect. This march is a show of solidarity to demand safety and health in a time when our country is marginalizing us and making sexual assault an electable and forgiveable norm. We align with all POC and LGBTQ causes, and we will show our support in a non-violent, peaceful protest.
