At Genesis Cinema, London, United Kingdom
On 15th January 2017 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Description

As part of our #DirectedByWomen2017 season at Genesis, which will see us screening 52 films by female directors across the whole of 2017 in association with the F-Rating and Bechdel Test Film Fest we proudly present HALFWAY + Q&A with director Daisy-May Hudson and Zahra Dalilah from Take Back The City.

HALFWAY chronicles the experience of a homeless family living half way between homes. Told through the eyes of Daisy, as daughter and filmmaker, HALFWAY offers exclusive access into offers exclusive access into one of the many ordinary families in Britain who have lost their home at the grip of a national housing crisis. This film documents a rare opportunity where the line between filmmaker and subject is blurred; An extraordinary story of courage and determination, a story of family bonds which is both heartbreaking and life affirming, combining moments of tremendous tenderness and grit with hilarious and unexpected humour. all at once we witness the joyful and hilarious moments of everyday family life, up against its inevitable struggles too.

Take Back the City is a campaign to put the majority, the marginalised and the disillusioned back in the driving seat of decision-making in London. We promote the interests of Londoners from all backgrounds and postcodes, on both sides of the river and either end of the Central line. From out-of-control landlords to community centre closures, we are all living the effects of inequality and the imbalance of power in London.
