EWA on Tour: Hamburger Bahnhof - Ernst Ludwig Kirchner

Description

Gemeinsam besuchen wir die Ausstellung Ernst Ludwig Kirchner: Hieroglyphen. Erstmals werden die Werke Kirchners aus der Sammlung der Nationalgalerie geschlossen in einer Ausstellung vorgestellt.
Die Vielfalt des Gesehenen und Erlebten erscheint in Kirchners Gemälden und Skulpturen nicht realistisch, sondern skizzenhaft überzeichnet. Figuren, Gebäude und Landschaften hat er abstrahiert und auf einzelne Elemente hin verdichtet. Die Rolle der Erzähler übernehmen oft sprechende Details wie Hüte, Schuhspitzen, Fensterlaibungen und Brückenbögen. Malerei erscheint in diesem Sinne wie ein System aus offenen Zeichen, aus Hieroglyphen.
