Why should all women support #FightFor15?

Almost half of American workers make less than $15 per hour. And women, especially women of color, are the vast majority of those workers. Even full-time, year-round employment can't provide these women with the income they need to live. Many have to take two or three jobs just to survive. That means that working mothers, particularly single ones, are working all day and night, struggling just to provide food and care for their children.

In fact, over 20% of America’s children live with a parent who would receive a raise.

Fight for $15 isn’t just about a few more dollars in a paycheck-- it’s about lifting hard-working families and their children out of poverty.

Bernie Sanders has led the fight in Congress for the $15 minimum wage, and he is one of the only presidential candidates calling for the federal wage increase. Other candidates want to let states mandate wages. But right now there is not a single state in which full-time minimum-wage workers can secure a two-bedroom apartment. We need to send a message that this wage abuse is unacceptable.
