Description
Bad Penny, benannt nach dem gleichnamigen Song des irischen Sängers und Gitarristen Rory Gallagher, ist eine Rostocker Band die besonders durch „eine selbstbewusste Leadgitarre, das beschwingte Akkordeon und das dominante Piano“ besticht (GoodTimes, 6/13).
Die Financial Times bezeichnete sie gar als norddeutsches Aushängeschild, denn sie überzeugen nicht nur in englischer Sprache, sondern auch mit Liedtexten in ihrer nordischen Mundart - wie z.B. mit dem Radiohit "Ilsebill".
Musikalisch lässt sich Bad Penny zwischen Pink Floyds Mystic und dem Folk der Waterboys wiederfinden.
