Description
Gegründet wurde das Freilichtmuseum im Berliner Tiergarten 1978, als verstärkt Elektrolampen die Beleuchtung der Straßen übernommen hatten und die ausrangierten Gaslaternen als Zeugen des historischen Straßenlichts bewahrt werden sollten. Mit etwa 90 Gaslaternen - Original und Nachbauten - umfasst das Museum heute die umfangreichste Sammlung dieser Art in Europa.
Weltweit einzigartige Laternen sind hier zu finden, manche tragen eigentümliche Namen wie "Wilmersdorfer Witwe" oder "Bullenbein".
Wer Gaslaternen mag, sollte diese Tour, verbunden mit einem Picknick am Landwehrkanal, nicht versäumen.
