Description
In this discussion Heidi R. Lewis will examine representations of Black women and woman of color in media, especially advertisements. She will analyze how these representations perpetuate racist stereotypes and how they are connected to racialized sexual violence in U.S. society. She is also hoping to learn more about how these problems manifest in the German context.
Heidi R. Lewis is Assistant Professor of Feminist & Gender Studies at Colorado College (United States).
