"Tief bewegt ging ich durch Frida Kahlos Azul, in das sie nach ihrer Scheidung und Wiedervermählung mit Diego Rivera, dem berühmten Freskenmaler, bis zu ihrem Tode wohnte. Ich sah sie in meinen Gedanken in ihrem Rollstuhl sitzend und malend. Ich stand vor ihren „Leidenskorsagen“ tränenvoll." E.C. Kittel
Die emanzipierte Malerin und charismatische Rebellin, ihre unbändige Lebenslust und die Farbenpracht drücken sich in ihrem einmaligen Schaffen aus. In ihrer Wirkung hat sie Diego Rivera längst übertroffen, obgleich eine weltweite Würdigung ihrer Arbeit erst lange nach ihrem Tod erfolgte.
