Die karibisch-amerikanische Künstlerin und Aktivistin Audre Lorde wurde in den 80er Jahren in Berlin zur Mentorin und Mitbegründerin der Afrodeutschen Bewegung in Deutschland und beeinflusste auch die feministische Bewegung nachhaltig.
Ika Hügel-Marshall war eine enge Freundin Audre Lordes.
21 Jahre nach Audre Lordes Tod kommt sie mit Weggefährtinnen ins Gespräch, um Audre Lordes Einfluss auf ihren politischen und persönlichen Weg zu würdigen. Dabei sind: Abenaa Adomako, Schwarze Deutsche ghanaischer Herkunft in der 3. Generation, ISD Berlin und Traude Bührmann, Schriftstellerin, Fotografin, Dichterin, Reisende
