Filmportrait ELLEN AUERBACH, FOTOGRAFIN, GEBOREN 1906

Ellen Auerbach wurde 1906 in Karlsruhe geboren und begann schon 1924 zu fotografieren. 1929 zog sie nach Berlin und entdeckte als Schülerin des Bauhaus-Meisters Walter Peterhans, "dass es manchmal durch mich hindurch photographierte" - der Apparat wurde zum dritten "blinzelnden" Auge.
Sie gründete die Ateliergemeinschaft „ringl + pit“ mit Grete Stern und emigrierte in den 30er Jahren, zunächst nach Palästina und 1937 in die USA.
Antonia Lerch porträtierte die alte Dame 1992 in New York, wo Ellen Auerbach 2004 starb.
