Kulturstammtisch: Thor Heyerdahl und seine archäologischen Expeditionen

Description

An diesem Freitagnachmittag stellt Gudrun Thoms-Bruckert den norwegischen Abenteurer und Anthropologen Thor Heyerdahl sowie seine außereuropäischen Expeditionen vor.

Sein Jugendtraum, ein Forschungsreisender zu werden erfüllte sich Thor Heyerdahl. Alles begann miit einem Projekt auf den Marquesas-Inseln. Er entdeckte Ähnlichkeiten zwischen Statuen dort und in Südamerika und widmete fortan sein Leben der Suche nach frühen Verbindungen zwischen den Kulturen. Berühmt wurde er durch seine Kon-Tiki-Expeditionen 1947, auf der er bewies, dass man mit einem einfachen Floß den Pazifik überqueren konnte.
