Verleihung des 26. Friedensfilmpreises der Berlinale 2011

Description

Am 20. Februar 2011 wird der Friedensfilmpreis der Internationalen Filmfestspiele in Berlin zum 26. Mal vergeben. Der Preis wurde 1986 im UNO-„Jahr des Friedens“ von Berliner Friedensgruppen gestiftet; im Laufe der Jahre ist er zu einer der bedeutenden Auszeichnungen der Internationalen Filmfestspiele Berlin geworden. Er ist weltweit der einzige Friedenspreis auf einem A-Festival.

Der Friedensfilmpreis ist mit 5.000 Euro und einer Plastik des Künstlers Otmar Alt dotiert. Das Preisgeld stellt die Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung. Die Schirmherrschaft liegt bei der Internationalen Vereinigung der Ärzte für die Verhütung des Atomkrieges, Ärzte in sozialer Verantwortung (IPPNW), Trägerin des Friedensnobelpreises 1985.
