Inspiring Women

Join us for an entertaining and inspiring evening sharing words of wisdom and stories of courage from local heroines past and present!

Guest speakers include:

~ Frances Ambler, Assistant Editor, Oh Comely Magazine
~ Dr Shera Chok, Tower Hamlets GP and Associate Medical Director
~ Eleanor Dickens, Curator, Contemporary Politics and Public Life at The British Library
~ Dr Elizabeth Negus, Head of English, Barking & Dagenham College
~ Dr Nadia Valman, Queen Mary University of London

Each speaker will give a 5 minute 'lightning talk' about a woman with an east London connection who inspires them. Hear amazing stories of pioneering women in medicine, arts, journalism, and activism.

And if there's a woman from east London history that you'd like to shout about, sign up for one of our open mic slots on the night, first come first served.

The event will be taking place in the conference room on the first floor of the Learning Centre, there is wheelchair access via a lift.
