2017 California Solidarity Conference

En Oakland Convention Center, Oakland (CA), Estados Unidos
Desde el 9 Diciembre 2017 09:30 al 10 Diciembre 2017 18:00

Descripción

----- REGISTER AT: https://solidaritycon.eventbrite.com/ -----

The power of the progressive movement depends on our ability to create a strong, unified strategy. But the heightened urgency of 2017 has turned much of our work into rapid response, leaving us with limited headspace to reflect on process, outcomes, and lessons learned.

At the 2017 California Solidarity Conference, 500 progressives from across the state will come together for an open exchange of ideas -- discussing triumphs and challenges, and strategizing for our work ahead.

This is a weekend where movement organizers, legislative advocates, policy experts, and issue campaigners will build solidarity across issue areas and discuss how to lay the groundwork for long-term systemic change.

KEY THEMES

* The Resistance: Stopping the Trump agenda and defending targeted communities
* Collective Power: Developing political power and organizing for long-term change
* A Visionary Movement: Working towards a bold progressive vision of the future

YOU SET THE AGENDA

The California Solidarity Conference follows an unconference format that’s not about preselected panels and presentations, but rather collaborative discussions and workshops, with topics put forward by people participating -- meaning you!

This dynamic and open format allows us to discuss not just the outcomes of the work we’ve done in 2017, but the implications of what happened, and how that affects our plans and strategy for the work we'll do in 2018 and beyond.

The unconference format makes you the expert, and ensures that we’re having the right discussions to align on strategy and strengthen the California progressive movement.
