THE GUITAR PICKHER with Jessica Ackerley

The guitar pickher workshop is an all women guitar class that encourages and inspires women to reach their full musical potential. The main goal of the class is to allow fellow female and female identifying guitar players to come together as a community and learn in a safe environment where there is no judgment on skill level. Each class helps beginner and intermediate level players improve technique, visualize their instrument, build practice habits and find writing inspiration. The workshop is done in a lecture style so there is no pressure to perform or play in front of people, it is purely a learning experience to give tools and inspiration.

With Salit you will learn to move like a snake, flow like a river and shimmy up an earthquake with your hips.

Salit Cohen-Cheng is a professional Middle Eastern dancer, instructor, and choreographer based in New York City. She has been belly dancing for over a decade, performing on various stages, venues, events and teaching belly dance classes. Her award-winning classes are highly popular since she is passionate about her art and cares deeply about her students. She is an eternal student and never stops her dance and movement education.

Femchord will be interviewing bands and musicians during the Female Frequency and Sound girls workshop

Femchord features women and non-binary people who make, promote, talk, and love music. Femchord started in 2016 when Julia Wejchert and Kate Ida got sick of hearing “I don’t know any women in music.” What you won’t find here: Questions like, “What’s it like to be a girl in a band?” What you will find here: Awesome features, playlists, and a kickass radio show highlighting women-led music acts and women and nonbinary people involved in all aspects music.
