Wake voor Heather Heyer

On August 12, Heather Heyer was catapulted to international attention when she was killed by a neo-Nazi, whose hate and frustration drove him to ram his car into a crowd of anti-fascist protesters in Charlottesville. The call for unity of the various extreme right-wing and neo-Nazi groups was ultimately unsuccessful, but the poison of fascism made Heather Heyer a martyr. The poison of fascism sets people against one another, also in the Netherlands. On Wednesday August 23, Comite 21 maart, Democrats Abroad, and Women’s March the Netherlands will pay tribute to her memory and ideals on Museumplein at 7 pm. More details to come.

Op 12 augustus kreeg Heather Heyer internationale aandacht toen ze vermoord werd door een neo-Nazi, wiens haat en frustratie hem dreef om zijn auto met razende vaart in de menigte anti-fascistische demonstranten te boren. De oproep tot eenheid van de verschillende extreem rechtse en neo-nazi-groepen in Charlottesville was uiteindelijk géén succes, maar het gif van fascisme maakte Heather Heyer wel een martelaar.
