Tansy Blue has an invisible disability which heavily impairs her executive function. After going through the demanding assessment process to switch from Disability Living Allowance to Personal Independence Payment, Tansy was left with a sense of insecurity about her status as a disabled person under the UK government.
In order to make an income which would allow her more freedom than her ever-diminishing allowances, she made the decision to go into sex work. Her job as an escort allows her to manage her time, hours and finances in a way that works for her. But being a disabled sex worker doesn’t come without its challenges…
Join us for an intersectional talk about autism, benefits, disability, sex work and more.

ABOUT OUR MEETUPS
The Uncomfortable Truth is a not-for-profit project which aims to create diverse, inclusive communities by giving a voice to speakers who are "othered" in mainstream society, helping individuals and communities to better connect and understand each other. After a +/- 50-minute talk, attendants will be invited to join in the discussion, ask questions to the speaker and the room, and share their own experiences.
ABOUT PRICING
When attending the Uncomfortable Truth, we encourage you to contribute £10 - £15 for each talk (if you can, no one turn away for lack of funds). The first £80 go to the Speaker, the next £140 towards the cost of the venue, and whatever is left towards the food and the organisers.

ABOUT OUR FACEBOOK GROUP
Our Facebook group is where speakers, organisers and community members share their favourite content sources, have discussions, ask open questions, and share information about our talks and podcasts.
As during our talks, you are asked to act with respect towards every community member. Anyone being disrespectful will be asked to leave the group. The space is not about debating what’s right or wrong, but about listening and sharing personal experiences.
