We’re marching on January 20, 2018 and we're asking you to join us!
On the anniversary weekend of the historic worldwide 2017 Women's March, we’re inviting everyone back to the Roanoke Women's March. The Roanoke Women's March is dedicated to the voices of Virginia women. Instead of reenacting last year’s march, we gather as a community of passionate women who deeply value equality, justice, and human rights and who are ready to impact the 2018 elections.
IF YOU CAN’T HEAR US, HEAR OUR VOTE!
Standing together with our sister grassroots groups here in the Roanoke Valley, we celebrate our shared resistance and we renew our commitment to build a stronger, a more unified, a more positive, Virginia. Our 2018 march will engage and empower voters to support women's rights, human rights, social and environmental justice. Our 2018 March will harness the political power of women and their diverse communities to create transformative social change and encourage participation in our 2018 elections.
The Roanoke Women’s March anniversary is one of many worldwide events marking the movement that rallied millions of marchers on January 21, 2017, in the largest single-day demonstration in U.S. history.
The Roanoke Women’s March is a women-led movement providing intersectional education on issues impacting the Roanoke Valley, issues that especially impact women and their families. We Will Raise Our Voices to create solutions for Virginia communities.
We are a platform for grassroots activists and organizers to engage in their local communities to dismantle systems of oppression. We recognize that there is no true peace, freedom, or inclusion without equality for all. Our march will represent voices of resistance aligned with our Unity Principles -- ending violence and promoting civil rights, reproductive rights, LGBTQIA rights, workers' rights, disability rights, immigrant rights, Indigenous people's rights and environmental justice.
