In Body in Process, Larissa Ferreira (1984, Brazil)
experiments on how the body is transformed by presence and absence, using the coal as a symbol of the memory. Her research takes place on the fragile separation between past, present and immediate future.
As the philosopher Henri Bergson said, the perception of the presence is the memory. For him the present state is simultaneously a perception of the immediate past and the immediate future.
Larissa Ferreira holds a BA in Dance (University of Bahia, 2007), a MA in Contemporary Arts (University of Brasília, 2010) and is a PhD student in Contemporary Art in Brazil (University of Brasília). She has been working in several projects of performance, dance, technology and urban art in many countries, including Brazil, Portugal, Finland, USA, Germany and Italy.
