Shut Down Hackney Picturehouse, Again!

It was amazing to see so many members of the community come out to shut down the Hackney Picturehouse on 31st March - thank you!

In order that we keep up the pressure, we are organising another demonstration on Saturday 15th April, when Picturehouse workers will be on strike once again.

The Hackney strikers will be joining the Dulwich Picturehouse strikers on their first picket that day so, without our presence, there will be no indication that a strike is going on. This makes our community demonstration even more vital.

Many potential punters were persuaded not to give their custom to the Picturehouse once they had spoken to members of the community demo and striking workers on the picket line - it is key that there are even more of us and that we are even louder and more visible on the 15th!

Picturehouse workers have been on strike now since September. They are striking for the London Living wage, sick pay, maternity pay and union recognition.
