Who Changes the World? Girls! Workshop at USM in Portland
In 2012, Seventeen Magazine pledged to never alter bodies of girls with Photoshop, a woman moderated a presidential debate for the first time in 20 years, and Hasbro announced they will be selling an Easy Bake Oven that's not pink and covered with flowers. What do all of these things have in common? Girl activists made it all happen! This workshop will look at what goes in to making change online, and then give girls some skills and tips for building online girl activist communities and using online tools -- otherwise known as Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and more! -- to make real change for girls and women in 2013. This workshop will be led by Shelby Knox and is for teens and young women ages 15-23. The cost is $10 but scholarships are available. Workshop runs from 1p-3p. Register here: https://hghw.wufoo.com/forms/w7w9q9/
